NFL Week six: Assorted Kicking Tidbits & Milestones

Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan averaged 60.0 yards on four punts during the win over New England. He is only the third to ever average 60 or more yards in a game and the first to do so in 66 years. 

Atop the list is Bob Cifers with an average of 61.75 yards while with the Detroit Lions in a game against the Chicago Bears on November 24, 1946. Second is Roy McKay with a 61.6 average with Green Bay against the Chicago Cardinals on October 28, 1945.

For the season, Ryan currently ranks 4th in gross punting average:

Rob Bironas' game winning field goal against the Steelers was the 11th game-winning kick of his career and set the Titans/Oilers franchise record, surpassing Al Del Greco.

Jay Feely's 61 yard field goal against the Bills was a new Cardinals franchise record.

Greg Zuerlein set the NFL record for most consecutive field goals by a rookie at 15 in-a-row.

Detroit kicker Jason Hanson's 14 points in the win over Philadelphia moved him past John Carney into third place on the NFL all-time scoring list. Hanson now has 2074 points. Carney has 2062.
