Draft Preview: Drew Alleman

Among the kickers eligible for this year's NFL draft, or signing as an undrafted free agent thereafter, is LSU's Drew Alleman. He ranks in the top ten in the majority of the various draft rankings.

2012 Senior Season
  • All-SEC Second Team (Coaches)
  • Ranks No. 5 in school history for career field goal percentage at .787, tied for No. 5 in field goals made (37), and No. 8 in field goal attempts (47)
  • Only player in LSU history to score 100 points in back-to-back seasons
  • Invited to participate in the Raycom All-Star College Football Classic
  • Kicked career-long field goal of 49 yards in win over Arkansas
  • Ranked No. 2 in SEC in field goals and led the league in field goal attempts
2011 Junior Season
  • SI.com Honorable Mention All-American
  • Second-Team All-Southeastern Conference (AP, Coaches) 
  • Ranked first in the SEC and second nationally in field goal percentage
  • Closed season by making 10 consecutive field goals
  • Earned Lou Groza Star of the Week recognition after he nailed all three of his field goal attempts, including the game-winning 25-yarder in overtime, at Alabama
  • Named one of three Lou Groza Stars of the Week nationally after an outstanding game against Mississippi State as he finished a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals (21, 42, 41, 29) and was 1-for-1 on extra points
  •  Handled kickoff duties early in the season and produced a 55.8 average on 13 kickoffs
2010 Sophomore Season
  • A preferred walk-on who served as the backup placekicker to Josh Jasper but also handled kickoff duties
  • Had seven kickoffs for 444 yards and a 63.4-yard average 
2009 Freshman Season
  • Backup at both punter and placekicker for the Tigers
  • Played against Tulane in place of an injured Derek Helton ... Punted twice vs. Green Wave for a 25.5 average ... Had a long punt of 33 yard while one of his two punts was downed inside the 20-yard line
High School
  • Kicked a 32-yard field goal as time expired to lead Acadiana past Sulphur, 13-10, in the 5A state title game in the Louisiana Superdome in December of 2006 
  • Earned first-team 5A all-state honors in 2007 ... 
  • As a senior, booted 56-of-61 kickoffs into the endzone, converted 6-of-9 field goals and was 61-of-63 on PATs ... Also averaged 42 yards on 11 punts
  • Also a standout soccer player in high school


College Stats:
2012: 21 of 29 (72.4%) FGs; 44 of 44 PATs; 107 points
2011: 16 of 18 (88.9%) FGs; 62 of 63 PATs; 110 points

At LSU's Pro Day earlier this month, Alleman discussed the closure of his college career:
“It’s good to get old friends back here. A lot of guys have been off in Florida and Texas training, and I haven’t seen them in a while. We met in the locker room this morning, and it was like old times. This is the last time we’ll all be together. It was good to get together and say, ‘Hey,’ and get some (phone) numbers to keep in touch.”
