Army Black Knights 2013 Specialists

Our summer tour of FBS schools looks at the specialists for the Army Black Knights.

Kicker/punter: Daniel Grochwoski, sophomore (Sarasota, FL / Riverview HS)
"Daniel Grochowski returns at kicker after sharing those duties with former senior Eric Osteen, and he's also an option at punter, along with sophomore Alex Tardieu."
Spring Scrimmage: "Daniel Grochowski, Billy Fisher and Cale Brewer took turns attempting extra points and field goals. Grochowski’s best kick was a 47-yarder that would have been good from significantly longer."
Kicker: Billy Fisher, senior (Canfield, OH / Canfield HS)
Black & Gold Spring game: "Billy Fisher found his groove toward the end. Each kicker attempted six field goals with the rest of Army’s team lined up on the defensive side, trying to them by yelling. Wide receiver Chevaughn Lawrence blocked one of Fisher’s kicks. Lawrence admits he had some help. 'Larry (Dixon) was holding my feet and kind of threw me in the air.' Lawrence said. 'It was illegal but I got a block'.”
Kicker: Cale Brewer, sophomore (Prosper, TX / Prosper HS)
2012: Did not see any varsity action.
High School: earned three letters in football and four more in soccer ... captained the soccer squad ... member of 2008 Texas Class 3A state championship football team ... made 162 of 171 extra point tries during career (.947) ... made 18 of his 21 field goal attempts
Punter Alex Tardieu , sophomore (Grants Pass, OR / Grants Pass HS)
Last year Tardieu was the punter for the Army JV team, and is the lead candidate to replace graduated Chris Boldt as punter for the varsity squad this year.
High School: Earned eight varsity letters in track & field (4), football (3) and basketball (1) ... averaged more than 40.0 yards per punt
Long snapper/WR: Andrew Ellerson, sophomore (West Point, NY / O'Neill)
2012: Played in all 12 games as Army's long snapper on field goals ... snapped on punts versus Air Force and Rutgers following injury to Frank Ceva.
Long snapper: Connor Farley, sophomore (Grove Heights, MN / St. Thomas Academy)
Joined the team during spring practice [last year] ... worked as primary long snapper on punts ... also worked in FG/PAT snapper rotation ... transferred to West Point after playing one season at St. John's University in Minnesota
