Baylor Bears 2013 Specialists


Our summer tour of FBS schools looks at the specialists for the Baylor Bears.

Kicker: Aaron Jones, senior (Crowley, TX / Crowley HS)
Jones made a 38 yard field goal and five extra points in the Spring scrimmage.
Owns or shares 16 school records, including eight career marks: points scored (kickers and overall, 327), field goals made (tied, 45), PATs made (192), consecutive PATs made (107) and most 50-plus yard field goals made (three, tied) entering 2013 season... Also holds season records for points (119, 2012), field goals made (19, 2010) and PATs made (75, 2011)...
Nickname is "Stork."
Jones carries a streak of 107 consecutive made PATs into 2013.
Punter: Spencer Roth, junior (Knoxville, TN / Catholic HS)
Spring scrimmage: Roth punted several times, one of which got caught in the strong wind.
2012: Starting punter in all 13 games as sophomore... Averaged 43.8 yards on 36 total kicks, with 13 inside the 20-yard-line, four touchbacks and nine punts of 50-yards or longer on season.
Kicker/punter: Kyle Peterson, sophomore (Rockwall, TX / Heath HS)
Listed on the spring depth chart as the backup at both kicker and punter.
Long snapper: Zach Northern, senior (Hewitt, TX / Midway HS)
Fifth-year walk-on, fourth-year starter... Veteran with 36 career games played (tied for ninth-most on squad) entering 2013 season... Named to Fall 2012 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
