Cincinnati Bearcats 2013 Specialists

Our summer tour of FBS schools looks
at the specialists for the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Kicker: Tony Miliano, junior
(North bend, OH / Elder HS)
"Back for a third season as the placekicker is Tony Miliano, who has hit 17 field goals in each of the last two years. In 2012, he tightened up his accuracy, connecting 17-of-22 three-pointers and all but two extra points. He also addressed the blocked kicks that plagued him throughout his first year."
Punter: John Lloyd, junior (Cincinnati, OH / Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy)
Lloyd steps into the starting punter role, after starter Pat O'Donnell transferred to Miami FL in April.
High School:  A two-star recruit by Rivals.com and Scout.com ... three year letter winner, twice named all-State, all-SW District, Cincinnati Enquirer all-City, all-Miami Valley Conference and all-Tri-State Football.com ... led the State of Ohio as a senior with a 44 yards per punt average, 46% inside the 20, longs of 70, 69 and 64 ... also led the State of Ohio as a junior with a 42.6 ypp avg, 41% inside the 20...as a senior, ranked #5 in the nation by Kicking.com...selected to play in the Under Armour North South All Star Game
Punter: Eric Ernst, sophomore (Cincinnati, OH / McNicholas HS)
"Team summer strength training and conditioning has begun and we are working everyday to maintain a high level of explosiveness and flexibility. For me personally, I have been trying to develop my hip flexibility after I stick my plant into the ground. The quicker I can pull my hip up and through the ball, the better (from a punting perspective). My goals have been to increase this hip strength/flexibility as well as maintaining a solid operation time. Ball placement is key, so I have also been focusing on placing my drop directly in the way of my leg swing to perform the ultimate strike on the ball. My goal is to have these skills consistent by the time the season starts, and being able to do so in 2.0 seconds (snap to kick op-time)."
Long snapper: Kirk Willis, sophomore (Granville, OH / Granville HS)
2012: Earned a tackle at Toledo (10/20) ... recorded one stop against Virginia Tech (09/29) ... had two stops vs. Pittsburgh (09/06) in UC debut.
2011: Redshirted.
