Specialists Logic Puzzle #1

It’s often mentioned, and we’ve often repeated, that kicking, punting and snapping are 80% mental (give or take few percentage points). So to keep everyone’s mental faculties sharp, we offer the following logic puzzle for your enjoyment…

Four specialists (a placekicker, a punter, a long snapper, and a kickoff specialist) each have different shoe sizes, each had a different meal for breakfast, and each acquired a different honor. Based on the information below, match each player with their respective shoe size (9, 10, 11 or 12), name what they had for breakfast (bacon & eggs, fruit & toast, a western omelet, or Cheerios), and determine what accolade was bestowed upon each (Team Captain, Special Teams Player of the Week, All-Star Game, or First Team All-American).
  1. The player who was named Special Teams Player of the Week is not the punter.
  2. The player who was named Team Captain is not the kickoff specialist.
  3. The one who had bacon & eggs for breakfast is the punter.
  4. The player who wears size 11 shoes wasn’t named Special Teams Player of the Week.
  5. The player who was named to the All-Star Game wears larger shoes than the player who was named First Team All-American.
  6. The player who was named to the All-Star Game is not the placekicker.
  7. The placekicker wears smaller shoes than the player who was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
  8. Either the player who wears size 10 shoes or the player who wears size 11 shoes enjoyed a western omelet for breakfast.
  9. Of the player who was named Special Teams Player of the Week and the kickoff specialist, one wears size 12 shoes and the other wears size 10 shoes.
  10. The one who had a western omelet for breakfast is not the long snapper.
  11. The one who had fruit & toast for breakfast wasn’t named Team Captain and is not the kicker.
  12. The one who had a western omelet for breakfast was named to the All-Star Game.
  13. The one who had Cheerios for breakfast wasn’t named First Team All-American.
Answers are posted below the grid chart.
