D3 Preseason All-American Kickers & Punters 2013

D3football recently announced their 2013 Preseason All-American teams.

First Team
  • Kicker: Kevin Grady, Redlands - Converting an impressive 77.8% of his field-goal attempts during the 2012 season, Grady registered the fourth-best total of made field-goals in NCAA Division III with 1.56 per game.  He also returns as the leading scorer for the Bulldogs after racking up 77 points with 14 made field-goals and 35 successful point-after-tries.  In the final game of the 2012 season against Whittier College, Grady helped to propel the Bulldogs to an exciting 63-40 victory, firing of five successful field-goals and six extra points.
  • Punter: Michael Parks, Franklin - led the HCAC averaging 43.4 yards per punt during the regular season. He had 11 punts of 50 or more yards, including a season-long 64-yard punt against the College of Mount St. Joseph. Parks also downed 13 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.
Second Team
  • Kicker: Will Jeffcoat, LaGrange - Handled kickoff and placekicking duties last year... Set school record for a season with 12 field goals in 15 attempts... Led USA South in field goals... Perfect 22-for-22 on extra points... Second on team with 58 points... Averaged 56.1 yards per kickoff with four touchbacks... Broke school record for longest field goal three times during season... First broke record with 44 yard kick against Huntingdon, then 45 yard kick at Christopher Newport and 47 yard kick at Maryville
  • Punter: Garrett Maloney, St. Thomas - He's a three-year starter and punted 44 times in 15 games last season with a 42.3 average and 15 of 44 punts inside the 20-yard line. He's averaging 40.5 yards in 113 career punts. Maloney broke the Stagg Bowl record last December as he averaged 48.2 yards on five punts. He had a streak of 109 punts without a block end in the final game of 2012.
