White v. Maroon Spring Game: hit a 30 yard field goal and made five extra points
Kicker: Evan Sobiesk, freshman (Hattiesburg, MS / Oak Grove HS)
"Mainly I've just been working out and conditioning, but I've been focusing on technique and flexibility more than ever. My goal is to be 85-90% from 45 and in during fall camp and hopefully get a shot at playing time in the fall for field goals."
White v. Maroon Spring Game: hit four extra points
Kicker: Taylor Earhart, senior (Olive Branch, MS / Northeast Mississippi CC)
Passed up scholarship opportunities in order to walk-on last last year.
Punter: Baker Swedeburg, senior (Columbus, MS / Heritage Academy)
2012: Averaged more than 41 yards per punt on 57 punts as a junior . . . Held opponents to a total of six punt return yards on 13 returns all season long, a national-best yards-per-return average (0.46) . . . Forced 33 fair catches with 18 punts downed inside the 20 . . . Hit a long of 54 yards with five punts going over 50 yards.
"During the offseason I focus mainly on consistency. Consistency is one of the reasons our punt team was really successful last year. My goal this season is improve my average a little more but remain as consistent as I've been the past two seasons."
Punter: Mike Mordecai, freshman (Madison, MS / Jackson Academy)
Joined the team as a preferred walk-on last year: "I've had a couple of JUCO's offer me and talk to me but State was pretty much my only option but that's the school I've wanted to go to since I was born. My dad played at State and I wanted to be a part of the Bulldog nation. I wanted to grind for my State like Coach Mullen says."
Long snapper: Winston Chapman, sophomore (Fairhope, AL (Fairhope HS)
2012: Played in all 13 games as the starting long snapper . . . Did not allow a blocked punt all season . . . Recorded his only tackle of the season in the SEC-opening win against Auburn.
Long snapper: Bailey West, junior (Hollandale, MS / Deer Creek HS)

Long snapper: Luke Burnham, freshman (Hattiesburg, MS / Oak Grove HS)
"I'm transferring to Mississippi State and am trying to walk on. I wake up at 5am every morning and run 3.5 miles, then I run 10-15 sprints up a giant hill for speed improvement. Then I lift weights around 8:30 for 2 hours. Working a different muscle mass each day and incorporating Olympic lifts each day as well. 5 days out of those 7 days I snap 100 punt snaps, 25 field goal, then run 12 half gassers. My plans for the upcoming season are to continue to work hard and do everything I can to impress the coaches."
