North Carolina State Wolfpack 2013 Specialists

Our summer tour of FBS schools looks at the specialists for the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

Kicker: Niklas Sade, junior (Wake Forest, NC / Wakefield HS)
Ranks sixth in school history with 90 career PATs, despite playing just two years ... His 24 field goals made is the 10th best mark ever for a Pack player ... Entering his third campaign as the starting placekicker.
Kay Yow Spring Game: made field goals of 32, 37 & 45 yards.
Kicker: Evan Dunbar, junior (Concord, NC / NW Cabarrus)
"I studied abroad in France for my degree for most of the summer, but I would go to practice at a local rugby field and work out when I had time off. Now, I am back in Raleigh lifting and practicing on an actual football field."
Kicker: Ryan Stevens, sophomore (Raleigh, NC / St. David's HS)
High school: "St. Davids is bolstered by the leg of kicker Ryan Stevens who has several field goals, a rarity in 8 man football, as well as numerous kickoffs that have sailed out of the end zone."
Punter: Wil Baumann, junior (Wilmington, NC / Hoggard HS)
Ranks eighth in school history in career punts, seventh in yardage ... Entering his third year as the Pack's starting punter.
Kay Yow Spring Game: averaged 41.6 yards on eleven punts, placing three inside the 20 yard line.
"This offseason I've spent a lot of time with my coach Bill Renner. We've been going through the little things and the mental side of the game. It's been a process of turning my time spent on the practice field and making it as efficient as possible. I was the type of person who could go out and hit 100 balls and not draw much from it. So this winter off season had been learning the why's and physics of punting while the Summer has been productive training. Becoming my own coach has been the bigger picture and understanding my body to keep it under control."
Punter: William Stephenson, freshman (Raleigh, NC / Wakefield HS)
Kay Yow Spring Game: averaged 43.0 yards on two punts.
Long snapper: Scott Thompson, junior (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA / Trabuco Hills HS)
2013:  named preseason first-team All-American by Phil Steele
2012: Handled all of the long snapping duties.
Long snapper: Ben Garnett, sophomore (Charlotte, NC / Rocky River HS)
Walk-on who played at center and long snapper in high school.
