North Texas Mean Green 2013 Specialists

Our summer tour of FBS schools looks at the specialists for the North Texas Mean Green.

Kicker: Zach Olen, senior (Richardson, TX / Berkner HS)
2012: Was 11-for-16 in field goals and was 28-for-29 on extra points in 2012 ... Was 9-for-9 on field goals from 20-to-39 yards last season
"Being that it's my senior season I've been really focused this summer on my mechanics and getting into the best shape possible to help my team win more games. At the same time be a leader for the other younger specialist as well as for other young guys on the team. My goals are simply to be the best at my position. I want to make it to the big stage and win the Lou Groza."
Kicker: Zach Paul, sophomore (Frisco, TX / Wakeland HS)
High school: Named Special Teams MVP three times ... Converted on 140 of 140 PATs during his high school career ... Holds multiple Wakeland High School records
Kicker: Alec Curtis (Lewistown, NY / Mount Allison University)
Transfer student from CIS school Mount Allison.

Punter: Blake Macek, freshman (Sulphur Springs, TX / Sulphur Springs HS)
High School: Was a two-time first-team all-district selection ... Was named Honorable Mention all-state in 2010 ... Averaged 40 yards a punt with only one return as a senior.

2012: Redshirted.
2013 Spring Game:  Macek had one of the special-teams highlights of the day with a 49-yard punt that rolled to a stop inches from the goalline.
Long snapper: Blake Dunham, junior (Argyle, TX / Argyle HS)
Was the primary deep snapper on all punts and field goals last season ... Played in all 12 games.
"Dunham's first memory of the University of North Texas was sitting in the press box as a child with his father George Dunham, who also happens to be UNT's play-by-play radio voice. 'I would go to all the games with him and sit up in the booth and spot for him,' Blake Dunham said. 'Watching those players back then made me want to be like them when I grew up'."
Long snapper: Tony Johnson, freshman (Fort Worth, TX / South Grand Prairie HS)
High school: Was a two-time all-district selection as a tight end ... Had three receptions for 35 yards as a senior
