TCU Horned Frogs 2013 Specialists

Our summer tour of FBS schools looks at the specialists for the TCU Horned Frogs.

Kicker: Jaden Oberkrom, sophomore (Arlington, TX / Martin HS)

Oberkrom was named to the preseason watch list for the 2013 Lou Groza Award.As a true freshman last season, Oberkrom was a Lou Groza Award semifinalist. He was perfect on 42 extra-point attempts while going 22-of-30 on field goals. Oberkrom ranked first nationally among freshman kickers and second in TCU single-season history with 108 points. He set TCU and Big 12 records, while tying the NCAA freshman mark, with six field goals against Texas Tech. He was one shy of the NCAA single-game record. His last field goal in the 2012 campaign was a 53-yard effort with 2:42 remaining to give the Horned Frogs a lead over Michigan State in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
Kicker: Ryan DeNucci, junior (Austin, TX / L.C. Anderson HS)
2012: Played in the season opener, kicking off three times ... averaged 61.7 yards per kick and had a touchback against Grambling State. 

2011: Utilized as the Horned Frogs' kickoff specialist ... compiled 24 kickoffs for 1,531 yards, averaging 63.8 yards per kick ... had two touchbacks in six games
Kicker/punter: Philip Armendarez, junior (Lubbock, TX / Monterey HS / East Carolina)
Transferred from East Carolina last year.
Punter: Ethan Perry, sophomore (Spring Branch, TX / Smithson Valley HS)
Perry was named to the preseason watch list for the 2013 Ray Guy Award. He was a Freshman All-American and honorable-mention All-Big 12 selection last season. His 44.5-yard average ranked second among freshmen nationally and 14th overall in the NCAA. It was the second-best average in a season in TCU history, trailing only the school record of 46.1 by Chris Becker in 1986. Twenty of Perry's 63 punts went at least 50 yards with 19 placed inside the opponent 20. he totaled five punts of at least 60 yards, including a pair of season-long 64-yard efforts.
TE/long snapper: Bryson Burtnett, freshman (Springtown, TX / Springtown HS)
High school: Rated by FOX Sports Next/ as the No. 5 tight end in Texas and No. 40 in the nation ... had 19 receptions for 227 yards and two touchdowns as a senior ... totaled 37 tackles, including seven for loss, and two sacks on defense

Long snapper: Griffin Fauntleroy, senior (Temecula, CA / Portsmouth HS / Sacred Heart)
2012:  Did not see game action ... provided depth as the back-up long snapper.
Long snapper: James Power, junior (Myrtle Beach, SC / Myrtle Beach HS / Marshall)
Transferred from Marshall last year

High school: handled long snapping duties and played both tight end and along the offensive line
