Buffalo Bulls Kicker, Punter & Snapper News

September 21, 2015 - punter Tyler Grassman named MAC east Special Teams Player of the Week
"senior punter Tyler Grassman (Columbus, Ohio) averaged 38.8 yards on nine punts in a 33-15 win at Florida Atlantic. The senior punter had a long of 53 yards. In the third quarter, he bombed a 51-yard punt that went out of bounds inside the one-yard line. On the very next play the Bulls stopped FAU in the end zone for a safety.  Grassman also handled kickoff duties and three of his seven kickoffs went for touchbacks." - MAC

April 18, 2015 - spring game
"The two kickers on the roster, Adam Mitcheson and Sean Seefeldt will duke it out for the starting kicking duties. Seefeldt missed the only field goal attempt of the day, while Mitcheson missed an extra point attempt after the first touchdown." - Bull Run

February 3, 2015 - kicker Michael Cummings commits
"Buffalo had a kicker lined up early in the class but after visiting the Twin Cities Jake Herbers decided he wanted to be a Gopher. Enter Michael Cummings. The Clarkstown South product was a Kicking World Punting competition winner in April of 2014 and a 2nd Team All County Kicker/Punter in the 2013 season. He also won at the University of Pennsylvania FG competition this past summer and during his senior year was a 1st Team All League, All County, and All Section player. He is going to be competing with Adam Mitcheson and perhaps others for the job left vacant by the departure of Patrick Clarke." - Bull Run

October 9, 2014 - kicker Patrick Clarke
"Clarke missed a 33-yard field goal attempt late in last week’s 36-35 loss at Bowling Green and also missed an extra point that could have mattered in an eight-point win over Miami the week before. 'Is he OK?' coach Jeff Quinn said incredulously when asked about Clarke. 'I have zero concerns with Patrick Clarke. Why? Because he has been big for us throughout his career.' Clarke, a senior from Delaware, stands third on UB’s all-time scoring list with 207 points and third on the career field goals list with 34. His next field goal will tie Dallas Pelz for No. 2 on the list.... Clarke, who has held the UB place-kicking job since his freshman year, has the experience to understand that such is the life of a kicker. He’s off to a 4-for-8 start. That’s right about where he was last season (5 of 9) before going 8 of 11 in conference to finish 13 of 20. 'I’ve seen the highs of kicking and I’ve seen the lows,' he said. 'I feel that’s just going to help me become a stronger kicker and move onto the next week and get the job done'." - Buffalo News

April 19, 2014 - spring game
"Patrick Clarke kicked for both teams and finished 4-for-6 on field goal attempts and converted both extra points. The senior kicker showed off his strong leg, drilling field goals of 20, 43, 47 and 54 yards." - WIVB

February 5, 2014 - kicker/punter Adam Mitcheson signs
"Mitcheson comes to the Bulls following a great career at Kiski Area High School as a placekicker and punter. As a senior, he finished the season going 12-for-16 on his field goal attempts with a long of 50 yards. As a punter, Mitcheson averaged 40.6 yards per punt and had a long of 69 yards. He has won a field goal accuracy competition in Florida, a field goal distance competition in Ohio and the Regional Kohl’s punting competition in Pennsylvania. Mitcheson is the only specialist ranked in the 'Pennsylvania Finest' by 24/7 Sports. He also played baseball and basketball in high school." - WIVB
