February 4, 2015 - kicker/punter Chris Qualls signs
"Searcy, Ark. (Searcy HS) - Tabbed First Team All-Conference as a sophomore... Earned First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State honors as a junior... Selected First Team All-Arkansas as a senior... All-Arkansas USA All-State Insurance as a senior... Averaged 43 yards a punt as a senior... Hit 3-of-5 field goals as a senior." - Warhawks

September 27, 2014 - Justin Manton kicks game winner over Troy
"ULM is 3-1 for the first time since 1993 when it was a member of I-AA. The Warhawks recorded their third win before the end of September with a 22-20 win over Troy.... ULM started what ended up being the game-winning drive at its own 31 with 7:36 remaining, and Thomas completed four of his first five passes, including a 29-yard completion to Kenzee Jackson, followed by 6- and 7-yard passes here and there to reach the Trojan 2-yard line. Troy defensive end Jamal Stadom saved the touchdown, though, when he sacked Thomas for a loss of 10 yards on a third-and-goal from the 2-yard line. However, with the missed two-point conversion opportunity by Troy, ULM only needed the third and final Manton field goal – a 29-yarder – to seal the win. 'I was thinking we were about to score a touchdown and maybe if we score a touchdown go for two,' Manton said as he watched the game-winning drive unfold from the sidelines. 'Then after that late sack, then it kind of hit me. I'm really glad my thought process wasn't there before and I was thinking about it too much.' Manton totaled 11 points in the win. Doubling as the punter, the senior averaged 48.3 yards on his six punts in the game, three of which went inside the 20-yard line and two were downed inside the 5-yard line by receiver Tony Cook." - The News Star

February 17, 2014 - punter Joel Leger preferred walk-on
"Louisiana-Monroe received its newest recruit last week as Barbe punter Joel Leger accepted a preferred walk-on position to continue his career as a punter with the Warhawks. Leger was named to the Louisiana 3-5A All-District and Louisiana All-State Academic team for the 2013 season, during which he had a season-long punt of 67 yards against Sulphur High.... The Lake Charles native and son of Keith and Jennifer Leger currently holds the Barbe High career punting record, which stands at 39.5 yards per punt." - Times-Picayune

February 1, 2014 - kicker Craig Ford commits
"Hahnville senior punter/kicker Craig Ford committed to Louisiana-Monroe. Ford also had offers from Louisiana-Lafayette and Northwestern, but ULL only wanted him to punt and NSU only wanted him to kick. At ULM, he'll handle both responsibilities. 'I'm relieved," said Ford (6-foot-3, 165 pounds). "I'm committed to a school. I just can't wait.' Ford, who is also on the soccer team, kicked a career-best 50-yard field goal in a 7-5 loss to Rummel last season." - Times-Picayune
