He and coach (Hank) Carter go way back and (Carter) helped me through the process,' Stott told the HillTopics. 'I really like coach Morris, I'm excited to play for him. January 25, 2015 - kicker Josh Williams commits

July 16, 2014 - summer specialists
"Contenders: Kickers/Punters: Alex Faoro (So.), Daniel Chaparro (So.), Cody Rademacher (Sr.), Jackson Koonce (Fr.) - Chase Hover handled both kicking and punting duties a season ago but was lost to graduation, leaving to big holes to fill. Koonce will likely take over that role as a true freshman. The Mustangs recruited him out of Oceanside (Calif.), where he was named the Avocado League Kicker of the Year.... Keep an eye on Rademacher. Koonce is better as a punter, which means Rademacher will have a chance to wrestle away the starting kicker job. A transfer from Air Force, Rademacher sat out in 2012 and played in six games last year as the holder. As a senior at Austin Westlake, Rademacher earned honorable mention All-State honors." - Dallas Morning News

May 26, 2014 - kicker competition
"In terms of replacing Chase Hoover, SMU could use junior Cody Rademacher, sophomore Alex Faoro or incoming freshman Jackson Koonce. When it comes to kicking competitions, always bank on the kicker recruited on scholarship. That'd be Koonce." - USA Today

He punted 34 times, averaging 34.4 yards with 15 punts downed inside the 20, and was named the Avocado West League Kicker of the Year. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Koonce had offers from Army, Air Force, Columbia and USD. He also considered William & Mary and Cal Poly-SLO.
