October 3, 2015 - kicker Chris Boswell signed, Josh Scobee released
"Scobee missed two field goals in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter to set up the brutal loss. Coach Mike Tomlin clearly didn't trust his kicker on a pair of fourth-down plays in overtime leading to the defeat. Scobee made just six of 10 field goal tries and missed one extra point in four games in Pittsburgh.... Boswell, 24, spent training camp with the New York Giants. He was undrafted out of Rice and tried out for the Houston Texans in 2014 before being cut. Boswell, who has never attempted a kick in a regular-season game, boasts a strong leg and will now be relied on in one of the most difficult home fields for kickers in the NFL." - NFL

September 4, 2015 - Jordan Berry wins punting job, Brad Wing traded to NY Giants
"He knew he gave his all throughout training camp and the preseason, but the NFL is unpredictable and he wasn’t sure if he would land on the team’s 53-man roster or be headed back to Australia. Until fellow punter, and fellow Australian, Brad Wing walked in the room. 'Brad came through and congratulated me and let me know he was traded and headed off,' said Berry. It was that simple. After competing against each other on a daily basis, it was Berry who won out in the end and Wing traded to the New York Giants for a conditional seventh round draft pick." - Steelers

August 31, 2015 - kicker Garrett Hartley placed on Injured Reserve

August 31, 2015 - kicker Josh Scobee acquired in trade from Jaguars
"The Steelers quest to find a healthy kicker has le them to trade for one. According to Jeff Prosser of 1010XL in Jacksonville, Scobee is already en route to the Steelers. Scobee was the longest-tenured Jaguars player, having worked for them since 2004, when he was chosen in the fourth round.... The Steelers lost Shaun Suisham to a torn ACL in the preseason opener, and replacement Garrett Hartley suffered a hamstring injury Saturday that looked like it was going to keep him out of the regular season opener." - NBC Sports

August 12, 2015 - kicker Shaun Suisham placed on Injured Reserve

August 11, 2015 - kicker Garrett Hartley signed
"Hartley, 29, appeared in two games for the Cleveland Browns last season, making all three of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point attempts. Previously, Hartley spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints, who signed him as a free agent in 2008. Over 59 career games, Hartley has converted 85 of his 104 field-goal attempts (81.7%) with a long of 55 yards." - Sports Illustrated
The Steelers also worked out Jay Feely and Alex Henery

August 10, 2015 - kicker Shaun Suisham out for year with torn ACL
"Suisham will undergo surgery on his left knee this week and is likely to be placed on injured reserve, ending his season, according to the reports. Suisham, the only kicker on the Steelers' 90-man roster, suffered the injury while attempting to make a tackle on the opening kickoff of the second half." - ESPN

August 9, 2015 - kicker Shaun Suisham injured in Hall of Fame Game
"Suisham was injured making a tackle in on the opening kickoff of the third quarter. The Steelers announced that he had suffered a left knee injury and was questionable to return. He did not kick again in the game. Suisham is a right-footed kicker, so his left leg is his plant leg. After the game, head coach Mike Tomlin called the injury “potentially significant” in his news conference. The Steelers do not have another kicker in training camp. Punters Brad Wing and Jordan Berry would have kicked if necessary during Sunday’s game." - Pittsburgh Sporting News

May 12, 2015 - punter Richie Leone and long snapper Brandon Hartson released
"Leone, a first-year player who originally signed with the Ravens last year as an undrafted free agent, was signed by the Steelers as a futures player in January. Hartson, also a first-year player, signed with the Chiefs in the hopes of vying for an open long snapping job." - Steelers Depot

April 17, 2015 - long snapper Brandon Hartson claimed off waivers
"The Steelers claimed long snapper Brandon Hartson off waivers from the Chiefs, who signed him to a reserve-futures contract in January. Hartson, an undrafted free agent who spent the past two offseasons with the Bears, will join veteran long snapper Greg Warren on the roster." - Tribune-Review

April 14, 2015 - punter Jordan Berry signed
"The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday morning they have signed punter Jordan Berry to the offseason roster. Berry was undrafted out of Eastern Kentucky following the 2013-2014 season. During his senior year, he averaged 43.4 yards per punt with 18 of his 60 punts traveling at least 50 yards. An Australian from Melbourne High School, Berry has been training with Pro Kick Australia, a program designed to transition Aussie kickers to American Football. In addition to punting, Berry served as Eastern Kentucky’s holder on field goals. He becomes the third punter on the Steelers’ roster, joining Brad Wing and Richie Leone." - Steelers Depot

February 4, 2015 - long snapper Greg Warren re-signed
"The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the re-signing of long-snapper Greg Warren to a one-year contract. Warren, a 10-year veteran, has appeared in 149 regular season games and 10 postseason games since entering the NFL in 2005 as an undrafted free agent. Warren came to the Steelers after playing four years at the University of North Carolina where he was a walk-on as a long-snapper." - CBS

January 23, 2015 - punter Brad Wing signed to one-year extension
"Wing appeared in each of the team’s 16 regular season games in 2014, punting 61 times for 2,668 yards while landing 20 attempts inside the opponents’ 20-yard line. His 43.7 average ranked fifth among rookie punters in team history. The 6-3, 205-pound LSU product joined the Steelers on January 3, 2014. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles following the 2013 NFL Draft." - Steelers

January 23, 2015 - punter Richie Leone signed
"The Pittsburgh Steelers now have competition for punter Brad Wing as free agent punter Richie Leone has been signed to a reserve/futures contract. Leone originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Houston last May. During the 2014 preseason Leone punted just twice for a 41 yard average. Leone finished his college career second on Houston’s all-time punting list with a 43.1 career average and helped lead the team to a No. 3 national ranking in net punting at 41.4 yards per punt. 34 of his 73 punts (46.6%) landed inside the 20-yard line, which ranked third in the NCAA." - Steelers Depot

November 11, 2014 - kicker Shaun Suisham experiences highs & lows in loss to Jets
"After hitting a career-long 53-yard field goal to close the first half, Shaun Suisham missed a 23-yard field goal -- the shortest of his Steelers career and the shortest in the NFL this season -- in the fourth. "I'm really disappointed in myself," Suisham said." - Post-Gazette

November 2, 2014 - punter Brad Wings throws two-point conversion
"Wing threw a two-point conversion in the final minute of the second quarter against the Baltimore Ravens today. Wing was performing his duties as a holder for Steelers’ kicker Shaun Suisham in what looked a routine play to close out the first half. Suisham, however, did not put his boot through the ball, allowing Wing to sprint to his right and throw to Matt Spaeth for the two-point play.... According to official NFL statistics, three Australians have previously attempted throws in a competitive fixture. Mat McBriar, a punter, threw for 30 yards after a fourth down fake play for the Steelers last season in a 38-31 victory over Green Bay. He had an incomplete play with the Dallas Cowboys in 2004. Darren Bennett and Ben Graham, also punters, threw incompletions for the San Diego Chargers (2003) and New York Jets (2006) respectively." - Fox Sports Australia

October 12, 2014 - field goal opportunity slips away in 31-10 loss to Browns
"With the Steelers up 3-0 and outgaining the Browns 80-to-minus 8, Shaun Suisham lined up for a routine 35-yard field goal early in the second quarter. But the ball slipped momentarily as punter Brad Wing was positioning it, causing Suisham to pull up and not attempt the kick. Wing took off with the ball, but was quickly tackled. Instead of being down 6-0, the Browns took advantage of the huge momentum swing to score the next 31 points. 'The ball slipped, right at the last second,' Wing said. 'It's my fault. The snap came back and, like Shaun, says, we try to be perfect on every snap and we weren't. … It did happen quick, I couldn't sit here and tell you exactly what happened'." - Tribune-Review

September 30, 2014 - punter Adam Podlesh released
"The Steelers have terminated punter Adam Podlesh’s contract and released him from the team’s Reserve/Did Not Report List, the team announced today. September 28, 2014 - kicker Shaun Suisham's streak ends
"Suisham's streak of 24 consecutive made field goals ended Sunday in a 27-24 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Wallaceburg native extended his team-record streak with a 25-yard field goal in the first quarter, but he was wide right from 50 yards out as the first half ended. He kicked three extra points. Suisham is 9-for-10 on field goals this season." - Wallaceburg Courier Press

September 7, 2014 - Shaun Suisham kicks game winner over Browns
"Shaun Suisham drilled a 41-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 30-27 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The Steelers blew a 24-point halftime lead as the Browns rallied behind quarterback Brian Hoyer, but escaped thanks to some great plays from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Markus Wheaton." - AP

August 26, 2014 - Long snapper Luke Ingram waived, Greg Warren recovery
"The Steelers cut 15 players Tuesday to get down to the 75-man roster limit, [including] long snapper Luke Ingram.... Long snapper Greg Warren, who injured his knee in a practice against the Buffalo Bills Aug. 13, has a chance to return for the Sept. 7 opener against the Cleveland Browns, coach Mike Tomlin said." - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

August 21, 2014 - kicker Shaun Suisham wide
"Suisham signed a $12 million contract extension early in training camp, but he hasn't been sharp in the preseason. He was far wide left on a 46-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter [against the Eagles], and he also missed a 38-yard attempt against the Giants. He also couldn't convert a 33-yard extra point, one of eight missed in the NFL during its preseason experiment." - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

August 16, 2014 - Shaun Suisham kicks game winner
"Shaun Suisham kicked a 20-yard field goal as time expired, lifting the Steelers to a 19-16 win over the Bills. The Steelers’ first preseason win in two years was set up by Howard Jones’ fumble recovery and 19-yard return to the 1 with 15 seconds left.... Suisham missed the extra-point attempt from the 33-yard line following the first score. The NFL experimented with the PAT kick the first two weeks of preseason play, pushing the line of scrimmage from the 2-yard line to the 15. Suisham was 2-for-3." - Ellwood City Ledger

August 14, 2014 - long snapper Luke Ingram signed
"Ingram was with the team briefly in training camp last summer, before being waived in early August. The Jaguars claimed Ingram off waivers, but released him a few weeks later. Ingram is 6’6″, 225 lbs, and went undrafted out of Hawaii last year." - SteelerFans

August 14, 2014 - long snapper Greg Warren injury
"Mike Tomlin met with reporters and media today at his weekly press conference and announced that veteran long snapper, Greg Warren, damaged his meniscus in his knee and will miss approximately four weeks before he is able to return to the playing field. Although the injury will require a medical procedure, it is certainly the best of the possible injuries in terms of damage done to the knee joint. While Warren is injured and off the field, Bryce Davis will be taking over the long snapping duties. When asked if the team would bring in another long snapper for the time of Warren's injury, Tomlin seemed at ease with Davis holding down the position for the time being." - Behind the Steel Curtain

August 12, 2014 - punters status
"Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers placed veteran punter Adam Podlesh on the Reserve/Did Not Report list and after practice head coach Mike Tomlin was asked whether or not he’d be able to compete for the job at some point. 'It is what it is. Right now he's on that list and his status will remain there until we hear otherwise,' said Tomlin of Podlesh. 'Right now we're working with Brad [Wing] and like the work that he's doing.' Tomlin was then asked if he was going to bring in another punter to compete against Wing. 'Not as we stand here right now, no,' replied Tomlin. 'Not that I'm opposed to it, but not as we stand here right now'." - Steelers Depot

August 4, 2014 - camp specialists
"Shaun Suisham banged a 57-yard field goal that had more than enough leg and he may not have been the most impressive special-teams performer on Monday. Brad Wing, who is trying to win the punting job over eighth-year veteran Adam Podlesh, registered excellent hang time with some of his kicks. A handful of Wing’s punts were in the 5-second range as far as hang time. Anything over 4 1/2 seconds is generally considered quality hang time. Wing, who signed a futures contract last January, is still the only punter in camp. Podlesh has yet to report to St. Vincent College with the birth of a child imminent." - ESPN

August 1, 2014 - kicker Shaun Suisham signs 4-year extension
"The Steelers have announced that kicker Shaun Suisham’s contract has been extended for four years through the 2018 season. Financial terms of the new contract were not disclosed. Suisham connected on 30-of-32 field goal attempts in 2013, establishing a Steelers record with a 93.8 conversion mark. His 30 field goals made tied as the third-most in team history and his 129 points ranked fifth-most in a single season." - Steelers

June 13, 2014 - punter Brad Wing
Brad Wing, one of two punters on the roster, said OTAs are going well. 'It’s good to be back with a team and get this football thing going,' Wing said. 'So, it’s that time of the year, it’s football season'.... In 2011, Wing was arrested for simple battery and issued a misdemeanor summons. He was also suspended from the 2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Those issues are in the past, Wing said. 'For me, I’ve got a little boy now, a 14-month-old son, and I didn’t have him while I was in college. So, a lot of the questions people have about my maturity, you know, I know that actions speak louder than words. I’ve had my head on straight for nearly two years now, and there’s been no issues, so I’m going to keep doing that'.” - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

May 11, 2014 - punter Cody Webster invited to minicamp
"Cody Webster now has a team. The Central Dauphin East product and former Purdue punter has been invited to the Pittsburgh Steelers' rookie minicamp, according to his agent, CRM Sports. "The Steelers have signed punter Adam Podlesh to a one-year contract, the team announced today. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed. Podlesh (5-11, 200, 8) was originally drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth round (101st overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. He spent the 2007-2010 seasons with Jacksonville and the 2011-2013 seasons with the Chicago Bears. Warren (6-3, 252) has spent his entire career with the Steelers since originally signing with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of North Carolina in 2005. Warren has served as the team’s long-snapper in 133 regular-season games and nine postseason contests. He has played in 64 consecutive regular-season games." - Pittsburgh Steelers

January 3, 2014 - punter Brad Wing signed

Wing (6-3, 205, 1) originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Louisiana State University on April 29, 2013. He spent the 2013 training camp with Philadelphia before being released on August 25, 2013. While at LSU, Wing earned numerous accolades, including being named a first-team All-American and a Ray Guy Award Semifinalist in 2011." - Pittsburgh Steelers
