Monmouth Hawks Kicker, Punter & Snapper News

September 28, 2015 - punter/kicker Matt White named Big South Special Teams Player of the Week
"White averaged 49.8 yards on four punts and was perfect on his five placekicks (one field goal, four PATs) to finish with seven points at No. 16/16 Fordham.  His 35-yard field goal gave the Hawks their first points of the game, while his punts went for 54, 36, 42 and 67 yards on the afternoon." - WBTV

August 13, 2014 - kicker Lucas Santangelo
"Eric Spillane is gone and the job is now open. Nothing is quite settled with the season-opener against Delaware St. on Aug. 30 and the Hawks’ first live scrimmage on Saturday, but true junior Lucas Santangelo appears primed to follow Spillane as Monmouth’s next kicker. 'I would say it's his to lose,' head coach Kevin Callahan said Tuesday morning at Monmouth Media Day. 'He has not yet kicked a point after (try) or a field goal in a game for us, so that'll be an experience and that's why we try to get them in a pressure situations with that overtime period today (during practice).' A native of the Jamaica Estates section of Queens and a graduate of New Hyde Park Memorial High School on Long Island, Santangelo may not have attempted a PAT or field goal for the Hawks yet, but he has seen the field, which is more than true freshman kickers John Coleman and Matt White have going right now. Santangelo handled kickoff duties in all 12 games last fall as a sophomore, averaging 61.3 yards with over one-third of his 56 kickoffs resulting in touchbacks. He also appeared in all 10 games as a freshman, averaging 58.3 yards on 56 kickoffs." - Asbury Park Press

April 26, 2104 - spring game
"It was a part of a shaky start for field goal kicker Lucas Santangelo, who saw three of his first four kicks blocked. Callahan attributed the blocks to a problem on the left side of the protection formation. To their credit they fixed it and he made his last three, from 47, 32 and 42 yards respectively." - Newsroom Jersey
