September 14, 2015 - punter Joseph Davidson named MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week
"sophomore punter Joseph Davidson (Findlay, Ohio) punted three times in a 48-27 win at Maryland, averaging 50.0 yards per punt. His long of the day was a 56-yard boom, which caused Maryland's dangerous Will Likely to retreat and attempt an over-the-shoulder grab deep in their own territory. The ball ricocheted off Likely and was recovered by Bowling Green's Alfonso Mack at the Maryland 14-yard line, leading to a big Falcons touchdown." - MAC

April 11, 2015 - spring game
"Kicker Tyler Tate had an uneven day, missing three field-goal attempts and two extra-points that were 35 yards long because of post-TD celebration penalties. 'My level of concern [for Tate] is zero,' Babers said. 'In the spring we don’t work him like we normally work him in the fall. As long as the snap-hold-kick is good and the timing is right, the last person I’m worried about is [Tate]'." - BCSN

February 4, 2015 - kicker Sam Crosa & punter Michael DuVernois sign
"Sam Crosa, Columbus, Ohio, Dublin Scioto HS - A preferred walk-on at BGSU … lettered three times for coach Karl Johnson and the Dublin Scioto Irish … finished his career by making 30-of-36 field goal attempts … had a career-long of 49 yards … made 112-of-114 career extra points … was named All-Metro and All-District in each of his final two seasons … earned second team All-Ohio Capital Conference honors in 2013 and first team recognition following his senior season … was named All-Ohio second team in 2014 … set school record with 14 made field goals in 2014 … helped team advance to state quarterfinals for just the third time in school history …
Michael DuVernois, Plantation, Fla., St. Thomas Aquinas - A preferred walk-on for the Falcons … a two-time letterwinner for the Raiders and head coach George Smith … helped team to combined 25-3 two-year record … won Florida Class 7A State Championship in 2014 … recognized with the Marian C. Krutulis Scholar Athlete Memorial Award in 2014 … also earned the Great American Rivalry Series Student Athlete Award." - Falcons

November 12, 2014 - kicker Tyler Tate
"Redshirt junior kicker has hit 82 percent (32-of-39) of his field goals over the last two seasons, the best mark for a Falcon since Shaun Suisham was 12-of-14 (86 percent) in 2002. Suisham now kicks for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was just 30-for-44 (68 percent) over his final two seasons at Bowling Green. Tate's 14-of-17 clip this year puts him on pace to eclipse last year's 18-for-22 performance by the end of the regular season. 'TT is an NFL kicker,' Falcons coach Dino Babers said of Tate. 'This young man, he's got a career after college football, and if you don't know what one looks like you need to watch him warm up, because that's what they look like. I've got two or three of them in the league and he'll be right there with them'." - Sentinel-Tribune

April 14, 2014 - spring punters
"Joe Davidson is the only scholarship “punter” on the roster, but kickoff specialist Anthony Farinella or Nick Fields could take the job." - Saturday Blitz

April 5, 2014 - spring game
"The first-team offense would then extend their lead to 10-0 a few minutes later, as Grant Goldberg knocked a 29-yard field goal through the uprights.... Tyler Tate would tack on a 36-yard field goal for the first team offense to complete the scoring." - Falcons

February 26, 2014 - spring specialists
"Special teams coordinator Tom Kaufman will have a lot of depth at special teams to work with when the Falcons take the field Thursday. Tyler Tate, who finished 2013 with the second most field goals made, extra points made, and extra point attempts in school history, will return after posting one of the most successful years as a kicker in recent memory at BGSU. Tate finished the 2013 season by scoring the sixth-most points in school history. Anthony Farinella returns as the kickoff specialist. Replacing [punter] Brian Schmiedebusch will be crucial to the Falcons' success in 2014, and redshirt freshman Joe Davidson is expected to fill in nicely." - Falcons
