Charlotte 49ers Kicker, Punter & Snapper News

September 7, 2015 - kicker Blake Brewer named C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week
"Brewer was 3-of-3 on field goal attempts and added two PAT’s in a perfect kicking perfomance that helped the 49ers defeat Georgia State, 23-20, in their FBS debut. Brewer connected from 45, 35 and 22 yards and kicked what proved to be the game-winner in the three-point win. His 45-yarder was the ninth successful kick from 40 or more yards in his career and he matched his own school record for most field goals made (3) without a miss." - WBTV

July 15, 2015 - summer specialists
"Charlotte returns the starting kicker and punter from last fall with both having solid seasons but needing to take a step forward in 2015. Junior Blake Brewer was 18-25 on field goal attempts with a long of 51 yards and 11-12 from inside 30 yards. Brewer also attempted 77 kickoffs with 14.2% landing for touchbacks. Backup kicker Stephen Muscarello was 2-2 on field goal attempts with both coming from 22 yards out. Punter Arthur Hart showed promise during his freshman season with 48 punts for a 36.3 average, a long of 57 yards, 10 inside the 20, and 5 over 50 yards." - College Football Outpost

September 25, 2014 - kicker Blake Brewer
"Brewer has yet to face the crucible of attempting a field goal in the final seconds with a game on the line. But 49ers coach Brad Lambert thinks Brewer accomplished something just as noteworthy in a 20-13 loss to Elon last week, when Brewer hit game-tying field goals of 26 and 43 yards in the second half. 'He’s a clutch guy and every time we ran him out there was a testament to that,' Lambert said. 'It was a three-point game (for much) of the day. So he’s made big kicks for us, especially that night.' Whatever the circumstance, Brewer, a sophomore from Concord, has been nearly perfect this season. His only miss in 10 tries came on a 24-yarder with six minutes left in a 40-28 victory over N.C. Central (had he made it, a frantic comeback by the Eagles likely would have been halted earlier than it was). Brewer has also kicked a school-record 50-yarder against Campbell and has made 42 straight extra points stretching over two seasons. He’s also averaging 59.8 yards on 29 kickoffs, with five touchbacks." - Charlotte Observer

February 11, 2014 - punter Arthur Hart
"While Hart doesn’t see being deaf as having any negative effect on his football career, he does understand that it made his journey to college football more improbable, if nothing else. So he knows he’s left behind a lot more than a record long field goal. 'To me heading to a D1 program is something out of a storybook,' Hart wrote. 'Growing up as a deaf child, I always dreamed of being the first of something so that other kids would be able to look up to me and be inspired....  Up until my official visit this past January, when I saw what it is like to be a football player at such a high level… there is nothing else like it,' Hart wrote. 'I just couldn’t believe I had accomplished this until I saw it for myself. Knowing that I’m going to a great university that’s surrounded with great people is just amazing. I’ve been dreaming to play Division I football since as long as I can remember'.” - Washington Post

February 5, 2014 - punter Arthur Hart signs
