February 5, 2014 - kicker/punter Ramon Coto Jr. signs
"Coto was a first team all-district kicker and punter at Westfield High School.  He helped lead the team to a 13-1 record and the Texas 5A quarterfinals.  He averaged 41.8 yards per punt and scored 85 points as a senior.  He was 61-of-64 on extra-point attempts and made all eight of his field goal tries. Coach's Comments: 'We really wanted to sign a kicker this class, but weren’t going to just sign anyone. Ramon really stood out to us as we evaluated those guys. He’s got a big leg and the ball really gets up when he kicks it.  His kickoffs were consistently deep and he’s kicked in some really big games.  He’s also a very good punter so he’s a dual threat prospect.  Aside from football he’s an accomplished soccer player so he has athletic ability to do a lot of fun things in the kicking game'." - Cardinals
