Abilene Christian Wildcats Kicker, Punter & Snapper News

November 15, 2014 - Nik Grau kicks game winner over Stephen F. Austin
"Stephen F. Austin – playing with a chance to stay among the league leaders and still vying for an NCAA Division I FCS playoff spot — gave up 256 rushing yards to ACU redshirt freshman running back De’Andre Brown and saw Jordan Wiggs miss a potential game-winning 27-yard field goal with 1:19 to play as the Wildcats knocked off the Lumberjacks, 37-35.... SFA punter Nick Bruno only got off a 16-yard punt to the Lumberjacks’ 41-yard line to give ACU great field possession with 9:14 to play and only trailing by one point. The big play in the drive was a pass interference call against SFA cornerback Maurice Poulard on ACU receiver Cedric Gilbert. Nik Grau then capped the drive with his third field goal of the game, a 31-yarder that gave ACU a 37-35 lead with 5:48 left in the game." - Big Country

August 21, 2014 - summer specialists
"Nik Grau turned in one of the top freshman seasons by a placekicker in ACU football history. He made 10 of 11 field goals for a 90.9 conversion percentage, which – if ACU's statistics had counted last year in the FCS statistical rankings – would have been the best mark in NCAA Division I FCS football and tied for 13th in NCAA Division I football.... He carries a streak of eight straight made field goals into the 2014 season. Grau's backup will be Ben Hynds, who was 3 for 3 on PATs in 2013. Austin Kilcullen set a new ACU single-season record for punting average with a mark of 44.2 yards per punt in 2013, an average that would have led the Southland Conference by almost two yards per punt and would have ranked 14th in the FCS statistical rankings. Kilcullen had 11 punts of at least 50 yards with a long of 64 yards against Illinois State. His backup entering fall camp is Weston Gray.... The Wildcats added junior college transfer Hayden Brodowsky to be the deep snapper and coach Ken Collums believes he could be one of the best in the league. Parker McKenzie is slated to be the holder for field goals and PATs." - Wildcats
