August 26, 2014 - summer specialists
"A key part of a successful team, the Bulldogs return a very experienced group on special teams in 2014. Leading the way will be fifth-year seniors Tom Alberti (Marshfield, Mass.) and Sam Sammons (Cypress, Texas). Add in junior Dom Kozlowski (Westford, Mass.) and the Black and Gold have one of the most experienced kicking games in the NEC. Alberti, who will be getting his masters this year, returns to serve as Bryant's place kicker. Last season, he was 5-for-8 in field goal attempts and 32-for-35 in PATs. Alberti enters his final season second all-time in PATs and third all-time in field goals. Sammons is back to handle the punting duties after averaging 38.3 yards per punt last season. He also put 11 of his punts inside the opponents 20. The Bulldogs, however, are really looking forward to the return of a healthy Kozlowski. He missed last season with injury after leading the league in touchbacks as a freshman in 2012. His right foot helped the Bulldogs field the best kick coverage team in the NEC and one of the best in the country that season. Bryant will also have depth at the kicking position this season as sophomore Drew Chretien (Coventry, R.I.) and Alex Malhas (Babylon, N.Y.) return for their sophomore seasons. For the first time in four years the Bulldogs will have a different long snapper. Patrick Basil graduated in the spring after an outstanding career and now senior Jeff Covitz (Reading, Mass.) will take over the duties. Sophomore quarterback Christopher Schultz (Bethesda, Md.) will take over as the holder, replacing the void left by Devin O'Connor." - Bulldogs
