Dickinson State Blue Hawks Kicker, Punter & Snapper News

August 28, 2014 - Josh Borm
Dickinson State senior Josh Borm has found success not just at one position, but three. The Cheyenne, Wyo., native sees all aspects of the field for the Blue Hawks. He’s primarily the team’s punter and kicker, but also sees ample time at wide receiver. 'I’ve always been playing wherever it’s been needed, whether it’s quarterback or whatever. But I hope I kind of found a spot here at receiver,' Borm said with a smile. 'Starting to figure things out kicking and punting too, which is kind of nice.' Borm played receiver early in his football career and also saw some time defensively at free safety. Before coming to DSU in the spring of 2013, Borm played football for Chadron State (Neb.) and started to turn heads with his punting. As a freshman, he averaged 39.7 yards per punt and 61.6 yards on his kickoffs.... In 2013, among a lost DSU season as the team finished 1-10, Borm had one of his best and most consistent punting performances in the NAIA and was rightly recognized. He ranked sixth in the NAIA in punt yards per attempt, averaging 44 yards, and punted the ball 76 times on the season. As the Blue Hawks’ kicker, Borm made 18 of 20 field-goal attempts with his longest coming at 38 yards." - The Dickinson Press
