September 10, 2014 - Jonathan Pitroipa scores brace in win over Angola
"Jonathan Pitroipa scored a brace to help Burkina Faso register a 3-0 win over Angola in their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations encounter at the Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda on Wednesday night. Aristide Bance opened the scoring on the stroke of half time before Jonathan Pitroipa netted a brace in the second half as the Stallions cemented their place at the top of Group C with six points from two matches.... The opening goal arrived in the 43rd minute when Jonathan Zongo showed composure inside the box before setting the ball up for Bance to finish with a low strike into the bottom corner. The Stallions doubled their lead four minutes into the second half as Traore played the ball over the defence to release Pitroipa, who comfortably slotted the ball home with only the goalkeeper to beat. Pitroipa, who was one of the Stallions’ star players in South Africa last year, opened the scoring with 11 minutes on the clock.
