Myanmar Men's National Soccer Team News

June 11, 2015 - Kyaw Zayar Win scores equalizer in draw with Laos
"It was honours even as ASEAN sides Laos as Myanmar played out a 2-2 draw in the opening Group G match in the second round of 2018 FIFA World Cup/2019 AFC Asian Cup joint-qualifyiers, with three of the four goals at the National Stadium in the Laotian capital coming in a four-minute spell at the end of the second half. Yangon United defender Zaw Min Tun, who set a Myanmar transfer record when he moved from Magway to Yadanarbon in 2012, opened the scoring with four minutes of the first half left to play before two goals in a two-minute spell from Khampheng Sayavutthi inside the final ten minutes looked to have turned the match in Laos’ favour. Sayavutthi, who made Laotian football history when he scored his country’s first ever AFC Challenge Cup goal with a superb bicycle kick against Turkmenistan in the final edition of the tournament last year, drew the home side level from the penalty spot in the 81st minute and looked to have sealed all three points for Thim Xad with his second of the match two minutes later. However, Laos’ lead would last just two minutes with Kyaw Zayar Win earning Myanmar a share of the spoils when the Kanbawza midfielder struck an 85th minute equaliser for Radojko Avramovic’s side." - AFC

September 6, 2014 - Ko, Thu & Oo score for Peace Cup title
"Myanmar dethroned the Philippines, 3-2, in the Peace Cup Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium. A goal in the 100th minute of extra time sealed the title for the Myanmar side. Striker Kyaw Ko Ko struck first for Myanmar with a long goal in the eighth minute. Daisuke Sato equalized on the 50th minute, his first goal in international competition, and Phil Younghusband put the Azkals ahead 20 minutes later. Min Min Thu made it 2 all, and the score was tied for the rest of the regulation period. Soe Min Oo beat his defender to put in the winning goal during the extra period. The Azkals had held the title for two years." -  Manila Times

September 3, 2014 - Win, Aung & Chi score in win over Palestine
"The Myanmar National Football team stunned the AFC Asia Cup-bound Palestine, 4-1.... As the game progressed, an opening goal stunned the Palestinian defense as a shifty move from the Myanmar right flank exposed a hole on the defense to strike a short cross to the unmarked Kyaw Zayar Win who then chipped it to the far side of the post to take the early lead for his squad.... A few minutes before the half, another goal was scored by Nay Myo Aung to extend the lead of the MYAs to 2-0.... To add into the problems of the Palestinian side, a lousy clearance from the defense led to another goal from Zayar Win to cushion Myanmar’s lead to 3-0.... Meanwhile, a breakaway run from the Burmese side spearheaded by Kyaw Ko Ko led to a goal as Nanda Lin Kyaw Chi went through the back line to receive a pass from to the former and score the final goal for Myanmar." - Rappler
