October 11, 2015 - kicker Kevin Henke named GSC Special Teams Player of the Week
"Henke secures UNA’s first Special Teams laurel of this season, turning in an excellent performance in difficult weather conditions in a 24-22 setback at Western Oregon.  The junior went three-for-three on field goal attempts, connecting on three straight kicks to give the Lions a 16-10 third-quarter lead.  His longest kick of the day came from 43 yards and he also hit from 35 and 28 yards, respectively.  Three of the St. Charles, Mo. native’s five kickoffs went for touchbacks and he also executed an onside that gave the Lions a chance for a game-winning drive in the final minute of the contest." - GSC

February 4, 2015 - punter Jeb Millender transfers
"JR Pontotoc, Miss. Pontotoc High School, Itawamba Community College - All-district punter in 2011 and 2012. All-state punter in 2012. Graduated sixth in his senior class. 4.00 GPA. - Led all two-year schools in punts downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line in 2013 and 2014. Second-team All-American pick in 2014." - Lions

September 27, 2014 - Taylor Pontius kicks game winner over Valdosta State
"Taylor Pontius kicked a school-record 54-yard field goal as time expired to lift fifth ranked North Alabama to a 31-29 win over 21st ranked Valdosta State at Braly Stadium. UNA had taken a 28-22 lead with 5:28 left in the game but Pontius extra-point attempt hit the left upright, leaving UNA’s lead at six points. Valdosta State then quickly drove 60 yards in seven plays to take the lead at 29-28 with just 2:02 left in the game. The Lions drove to the VSU 37 before Pontius came on to hit the game-winner." - Lions
