October 29, 2014 - kicker Justin Linn
After struggling to find the same rhythm that made him one of the best kickers in the conference as a freshman, Washburn’s Justin Linn regained form with a record-tying performance last week. Linn tied a single-game school record with four made field goals in Washburn’s 35-26 loss at Central Oklahoma last Saturday, helping the sophomore get back on track after an inconsistent first half of the season. The Abilene native kept Washburn in the game at UCO, connecting on kicks of 20, 25, 28, and 23 yards before missing attempts of 41 and 52 yards in the fourth quarter. 'I kind of got in a slump in the middle of the season, missing three in a row,' Linn said. 'But I got my rhythm back, made my first four (at UCO). I’m actually disappointed in myself that I missed those two at the end of the game.' Linn, an All-MIAA first-team selection last season, entered the UCO game having made just two of six field goals attempts this season after making 14 of 19 kicks last year, including two kicks from at least 50 yards out." - Topeka Capital-Journal

September 11, 2014 - Justin Linn kicks winning points over Nebraska-Kearney
"Washburn had its fair share of missed opportunities in Thursday’s game at Nebraska-Kearney, but with the game in the balance, the Ichabods found a way to pull out a must-win contest in miserable playing conditions. Justin Linn kicked the game-deciding 34-yard field goal with 8:14 remaining, and the Ichabods held on to claw out a 10-7 victory amid steady rain in Kearney.... A bad snap prevented Washburn from getting a field goal off in the first quarter, and Linn missed a 30-yard field goal with 2:27 remaining in the half. However, Linn came up huge in the clutch, calmly drilling the game-deciding kick. 'I just had to stay loose on the sideline,' Linn said. 'It was just like any other kick. You just have to force all the elements out and take care of what you can control'.” - Topeka Capital-Journal
