Norway Men's National Soccer Team News

September 6, 2015 - Jo Inge Berget scores in win over Croatia
"Norway 2-0 Croatia. Jo Inge Berget scored the first and had a shot deflected in for the second as Norway moved above their opponents into the top two in Group H.... Jo Inge Berget made the difference in Oslo, scoring the opener after 51 minutes and creating the second with a cross-shot that was deflected in by the unfortunate Vedran ─ćorluka. It has been a contrasting few days for these two teams – while Norway took maximum points from their September fixtures, Croatia gained just one, failed to score and now find themselves in third." - UEFA

September 3, 2015 - Vegard Forren scores in win over Bulgaria
Norway improved their chances of a top-two finish in UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying Group H with a 1-0 victory in Bulgaria on Thursday.... Indeed it was from an equally intelligent set piece that the visitors broke the deadlock. Stefan Johansen's options looked limited from a central position 30 metres out, yet he chipped cutely over the wall and into the path of Vegard Forren, who had peeled free on the right and volleyed adroitly past Bozhidar Mitrev." - UEFA

November 16, 2104 - Havard Nordtveit scores in win over Azerbaijan
"Havard Nordtveit scored and led Norway to a 1-0 win in Azerbaijan on Sunday for their third straight victory in Euro 2016 qualifying. The Borussia Monchengladbach defender headed Stefan Johansen's corner into the back of the net in the 25th minute to silence the crowd at the Tofik Bakhramov stadium. Norway were unlucky not to double their lead in the 69th minute when Alexander Tettey's header hit the bar." - ESPN

October 13, 2014 - Tarik Elyounoussi & Havard Nielsen score in win over Bulgaria
"Norway secured their first ever victory over Bulgaria after goals from Tarik Elyounoussi and Havard Nielsen handed them a 2-1 Group H victory in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Monday. Elyounoussi latched on to Per Ciljan Skjelbred's lofted pass before dodging round keeper Nikolay Mihaylov and then lifted the ball over Apostol Popov to score in the 13th minute. Bulgaria stuck back before the break when Nikolay Bodurov powered a header into the net from a corner. Having lost striker Joshua King to injury on the hour mark, the Oslo crowd got a welcome lift shortly afterwards when coach Per Mathias Hogmo brought on 15-year-old Martin Odegaard, Norway's youngest-ever international, for his second cap. The teenage playmaker immediately provided a much needed spark of creativity for Norway. Captain Skjelbred made a surging run through the Bulgarian defence before flicking the ball onto the path of Nielsen, who hooked his shot home." - Yahoo

October 10, 2014 - Joshua King scores brace in win over Malta
"Blackburn forward Joshua King scored twice as Norway completed a comfortable 3-0 Euro 2016 Group H win away to Malta.... After a positive opening when goalkeeper Andrew Hogg was called into action more than once, the visitors took the lead on 21 minutes when Cardiff teenager Mats Moller Daehli converted a low cross from King. The Blackburn forward made it 2-0 soon after when he sprinted into the left side of the Malta penalty area before slotting home.... There was, though, to be no recovery as King headed in a third goal at the start of the second half from a deep cross by captain Per Ciljan Skjelbred." - Sky Sports
