Skipper Husein Ali Mohammed put Bahrain on the first steps to victory with 31st minute penalty before the 2004 AFC Asian Cup semi-finalists struck three times after the interval to pick up their first points of the campaign. Busaiteen striker Sami Al Husaini extended Bahrain’s lead barely 60 seconds after Saudi referee Turki Al Khudair had signalled the start of the second half before Chad-born midfielder Abdulla Omar - who had a three-year spell in Switzerland with Neuchatel Xamax before joining Jeddah giants Al Ittihad - made it 3-0 in the 66th minute. "Bahrain has become the first country to win an all-international soccer match in Ballarat. The win marks the completion of Bahrain’s preparations for the AFC Asian Cup, with the side now two from two for practice matches after dispatching Saudi Arabia 4-1 in Geelong last week. It took until the 84th minute for Bahrain to register the win, which number 12 Aaish Faouzi did in sensational fashion when he found the back of the net with a curling 25-metre free kick from a tight angle." -  The Courier

December 30, 2014 - Ismaeel Abdullatif scores brace in win over Saudi Arabia
"A brace from star striker Ismaeel Abdullatif powered Bahrain to an impressive 4-1 win over Saudi Arabia in a pre-Asian Cup friendly at Geelong’s Simonds Stadium on Tuesday night.... Fouzi Aaish opened the scoring for Bahrain from the penalty spot in the 20th minute after Abdullatif was clattered in to by acting Saudi captain Hassan Fallatah. It was 2-0 six minutes later after Sami Al Hussaini’s powerful right-footed shot found the net after some neat build-up work. Saudi star Naif Hazazi was one of only three players who started that played in the Gulf Nations Cup final and he pegged back a goal from close range two minutes after half-time. But Abdullatif then capped off a brilliant performance with goals in the 58th minute - again from the penalty spot - and with a header in 80th minute." - Herald Sun
