High School Long Kicks - Kansas

Our series exploring the longest field goals at the high school level in each state continues with Kansas.
  • 58 Johnny Beck, Piper High, late 90's
  • 57 Mike Ross, Blue Valley, 1993
  • 57 Sean Simoneau, Shawnee Mission West, 1994
  • 54 Kelly Roberts, Hutchinson High vs. Maize, 2006
  • 51 Kendall Trainor, Fredonia at Sedan, mid 80's
  • 51 Jonathan Pyle, St. Thomas Aquinas in 34-26 loss to Webb City, 10/9/2010
"Aquinas, 5-1, got field goals of 27 and 35 yards from Jonathan Pyle in the first half and finally found the end zone late in the second quarter on a 55-yard catch and run by Shane Nachbar. Down 21-14 at halftime, two more Pyle field goals, including a 51-yard bomb, cut the Saints’ deficit to a single point, but the Cardinals never relinquished the lead. Before the game, Pyle told coach Mike Thomas anywhere inside the 35 was good for a field-goal try. 'Jonathan’s got a good leg and we were at point where we just wanted to put points on the board,' Thomas said. 'I didn’t realize (the 51-yard boot) was that long, but it gave us a big lift. And right after that, he about put the kickoff out of the end zone, so I think he was pretty pumped'." - Kansas City Star
  • 50 Brock Hartshorn, Concordia in 17-16 loss to Ellsworth, 10/26/1984
