September 3, 2015 - Saleh & Hosni score in win over Turkmenistan
"Oman went top of the Group D standings on Thursday with a 3-0 win over Turkmenistan seeing the Gulf Sultanate go above Guam on goal difference following the Pacific Ocean islanders’ 6-0 defeat to Iran. Paul Le Guen’s side, who started their 2018 FIFA World Cup/2019 AFC Asian Cup joint-qualifying campaign with a 2-1 away win in India, got off to the perfect start at the Seeb Stadium with Raed Ibrahim Saleh putting the home side 1-0 up after seven minutes. Turkmenistan were dealt a further blow just five minutes after the 23-year-old Fanja winger had opened the scoring when defender Mekan Saparov, a 2013 AFC President’s Cup winner with FC Balkan, scored an own goal before Oman went three clear in the just before the hour mark when Imad Al Hosni grabbed his second goal of the qualifiers following his match-winner against India." - Oman

June 11, 2015 - Qasim Said & Emad Al Hosni score in win over India
"India went down 1-2 to Oman in their opening group D fixture of the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup joint qualifier at the Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore.... It didn’t take too long for the visitors to take the lead as they scored within the opening 25 seconds. The very first attack saw Qasim Said being allowed way too much space by Rino Anto as the Oman striker slotted it from between the legs of Subrata Paul in goal.... However, India equalize against the run of play in the 26th minute. Anto’s throw-in from the right saw Chhetri cut in and let rip a fierce left footed shot which struck the far post and went in.... In the 38th minute, the Indian defense couldn’t track the run of Al-Farsi and the Oman midfielder was allowed space to move into the box. Dhanachandra Singh was guilty of tripping and referee Ko Hyung Jin had little hesitation in pointing to the spot. Emad Al Hosni smashed it in with Paul going the other way to give the visitors the lead once again." - MSN

March 26, 2015 - Yaqoob Abdulrahim & Abdulaziz Al Maqbali each score brace in win over Malaysia
"Paul Le Guen coached Oman beat Malaysia 6-0 in an international friendly held in Muscat on Thursday. Yaqoob Abdulrahim (2), Abdulaziz Al Maqbali (2), Qasim Said and Al Khaldi are the players who scored goals for the team. The match was held at the Seeb Sports Complex." - Times of Oman

January 17, 2015 - Abdulaziz Al Muqbali scores in win over Kuwait
"Oman beat Kuwait 1-0 at Newcastle Stadium on Saturday evening to finish in third place in Group A of the AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015.... Completely against the run of play Oman broke the deadlock in the 69th minute when they scored a textbook goal. Mohammed Al Siyabi fired in a pinpoint cross from the right to Al Muqbali, who was unmarked and produced a fine header from close range that easily beat the keeper." - Asian Cup

December 27, 2014 - Asian Cup roster named
"Oman have become the latest nation to name their squad for next month’s AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015 extravaganza. As expected, goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi and exciting striker Abdulaziz Muqbali headline the 23-man list, while experienced midfielder Ahmed Mubarak also features as Oman look to improve on their 2004 and 2007 group stage finishes.... Ali Al Habsi, Mazin Al Kasbi, Mohannad Al Zabi, Saad Suhail, Jaber Owaisi, Abdul Salam Amir, Ali Al Busaidi, Ahmed Saleem, Nasr Al Shimli, Ali Saleem, Mohammed Musallami, Ahmed 'Kanu' Mubarak, Hassan Mudhafar, Ali Al Jabri, Eid Al Farsi, Raed Ibrahim, Mohsin Johar, Saeed Al Razaiqi, Mohammed Al Siyabi, Imad Al Hosni, Abdulaziz Muqbali, Yakoob Abdulkarim, Qasim Saeed." - AFC

November 20, 2014 - Said Al Ruzaiqi scores hat-trick in win over Kuwait
"Oman advanced to the semi-finals of the 2014 Gulf Cup on Thursday after recording a resounding 5-0 win over ten-time champions Kuwait at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.... The Omanis edged ahead in the 44th minute when Ali Al Busaidi played a brilliant 40-yard pass in behind the Kuwait defence to find Abdulaziz Al Muqbali, who proceeded to send an emphatic finish past Nawaf Al Khaldi. On the stroke of half-time, they doubled their lead as Said Al Ruzaiqi was left with a simple tap-in from five yards out, after Al Khaldi had parried a low cross straight into his path. A third goal arrived for Oman three minutes after the restart when more poor defending allowed Al Ruzaiqi latch onto Saad Al Mukhaini’s right-wing cross and send a volley into the back of the net. By now, the Kuwaitis’ hopes were hanging by a thread but worse was to follow in the 59th minute when Al Khaldi inexplicably charged out of his box but completely missed his attempt to clear Ali Al Habsi’s hopeful punt forward; the ball eventually breaking to Al Ruzaiqi who made no mistake in firing into the unguarded net for his hat-trick. And in the 90th minute, the rout was completed when Al Muqbali headed home another excellent delivery by Al Busaidi to cap off an outstanding display from his side." - AFC

November 7, 2014 - Mohammed Al Musalami scores brace in win over Yemen
"Mohammed Al Musalami's brace ensured Oman boost their confidence ahead of next week's Gulf Cup Championship. In the friendly against Yemen played on Friday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, the Paul Le Guen-coached hosts notched a 2-0 win, but still had areas which needed improvement. It was the opportunistic brilliance of Al Musalami, that Oman scored once in each half to deny Yemen anything to rejoice. With an almost barren first half, Al Musalami's opportunism in front of the Yemen goalmouth resulted in a goal. This came just a minute before the breather. In the second half, at exactly 70th minute, Al Musalami was on target once again." - Times of Oman
