September 8, 2015 - Omar Kharbin scores brace in win over Cambodia
"Omar Kharbin scored a double as Syria whipped Cambodia 6-0 in the second round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 AFC Asian Cup joint-qualifiers at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday. Kharbin scored both goals in the space of 10 minutes (29’, 39’), while Sanharib Malki, whose penalty was brilliantly saved by Cambodia goalkeeper Sou Yaty on the 14th minute mark, got on the score-sheet on 31 minutes. Mahmoud then scored with a minute of the first half remaining as the visitors went into the break with a commanding lead, having scored four times in a blistering 16-minute spell. Omar Midani added a fifth five minutes after the restart before Osama Omari closed the floodgates with his goal on 82 minutes to put  Fajr Ibrahim’s side top of the Group E standings with a perfect record after three games." - AFC

"An Oday Al Jafal goal proved the difference as Syria beat Singapore to claim top spot in Group E of the FIFA World Cup 2018 and AFC Asian Cup 2019 qualifiers on Thursday.... Hafiz Abu Sujad and Khairul Amri could have given Singapore a first half lead at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, before the crucial breakthrough came in the 59th minute when Sanharib Malki crossed for Al Jafal to head home past visiting custodian Izwan Mahbud." - AFC

June 11, 2015 - Raja Rafe scores brace in win over Afghanistan
"Syria stormed to the top of the Group E standings with an emphatic 6-0 win over Afghanistan in their opening match in the 2018 FIFA World Cup/2019 AFC Asian Cup joint-qualifiers. Veteran striker Raja Rafe opened the scoring in the 19th minute before beating Afghanistan keeper Mansur Faqiryar for a second time 16 minutes later as Syria took control of the Group E encounter. Moayed Al Ajan made it 3-0 in the 42nd minute before Faqiryar - who was MVP of the tournament as Afghanistan won the 2013 SAFF Championship - had to be replaced by Fardeen Kohistani, one of just five players in Slaven Skeledzic’s squad who play they club football in the Afghan Premier League. The Shaheen Asmayee FC shot-stopper shutout Syria until the 70th minute when Abdul Razak Al Hussein added a fourth before substitute Sanharib Malki, the 31-year-old Turkey-based striker who came on on the hour mark in place of Mahmoud Al Mawas, made it 5-0 five minutes later. But Afghanistan’s misery wasn’t complete until four minutes into second-half stoppage time when Omar Khrbin scored number six from the penalty spot as Syria went to the top of the table on goal difference ahead of Singapore, who enjoyed a 4-0 win over ASEAN rivals Cambodia in Thursday’s other Group E fixture." - AFC

November 12, 2014 - Sabag, Malki & Khrbib score jn 3-0 win over Malaysia
"Just as the match was about to get underway at the Shah Alam Stadium, a heavy downpour began. However, it was the visitors who drew first blood, scoring as early as the 4th minute through Nadim Sabag.... The second half started almost like the first, with Syria scoring at the very beginning, barely two minutes in. Malaysia goalkeeper Farizal Marlias managed to palm away a Syria corner, but it did not get far. The rebound fell into the path of skipper Sanharib Malki, who headed the ball past the already-prone keeper and into the net. Syria made it three almost 20 minutes later, through Omar Khrbin, again from a Farizal mistake. Farizal got his hands on a short cross from the left, but only managed to push it towards Omar who needed no invitation to score." - Goal
