Jordan Men's National Soccer Team News

September 8, 2015 - Abdallah Deeb scores brace in win over Bangladesh
"Jordan further enhanced their 2018 FIFA World Cup/2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifying hopes on Tuesday thanks to a comfortable 4-0 win over Bangladesh. First half goals from Abdallah Deeb and Monther Abu Amara proved enough for Paul Put’s side who recorded their second of the campaign to go top of Group B with seven points from three games, one ahead of Australia who are scheduled to play in Tajikistan later today. Hoping to bounce back from last week’s hefty 5-0 defeat against Australia, Bangladesh held their own for 13 minutes but were undone when Rahman Meshu fouled the advancing Hamza Al Dardour to hand the visitors a penalty which Deeb calmly converted despite the best efforts of Bangladesh goalkeeper Rasel Mahmud. Al Wehdat striker Abu Amara then pounced 20 minutes later to double his side’s advantage and send the visitors into the break with a 2-0 lead much to the disappointment of the Bangladeshi faithful at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Things were to go from bad to worse for Bangladesh in the second period however, as Deeb bagged his second of the night on 56 minutes, before Yaseen Bakheet’s first goal for his country stretched Jordan’s lead with their fourth and final goal of the night within two minutes." - AFC

January 16, 2015 - Hamza Al Dardour scores four in win over Palestine
"Hamza Al Dardour became only the fourth player in the history of the AFC Asian Cup to score four goals in a single game as two-time quarter-finalists Jordan kept their knockout stage hopes alive with a resounding 5-1 win over Palestine in Group D on Friday. Yousef Ahmad’s eye-catching strike 12 minutes before half-time at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium settled any nerves for Jordan, who had previously not won a match since their final AFC Asian Cup qualifier in March 2013 having suffered a 1-0 defeat by Iraq in Monday’s tournament opener. And with recalled striker Al Dardour netting twice inside the final ten minutes of the first half before scoring twice inside the final 15 minutes, Jordan will remain in Melbourne to face defending champions Japan on Tuesday still in contention to maintain their 100% record of qualifying for the quarter-finals." - Asian Cup

Rajaei Ayed Fadel Hasan, Sameer Raja Suleiman, Mahmoud Zatara, Monther Abu Amara, Saleh Ibrahim and Ahmad Elias Ahmad Ali are among those to be selected from Al Wehdat. Goalkeeper Amer Shafi rounds off the seven, and he joins the likes of Al Salmiya's Odai Al Saify and Ahmad Hayel of Al Arabi in having previous Asian Cup experience." - Pulse
