March 26, 2015 - kicker Ali Mourtada signed
"One of eight finalists vying for a training camp contract in an open kicking contest put on by the Las Vegas Outlaws of the Arena Football League, Mourtada was the last kicker standing at the end of a kick-off after sinking seven consecutive field goals, each five yards deeper than the last. The 24-year-old Mourtada's dead-center 50-yard make - through field goal posts less than half the width of NFL uprights (nine feet compared to 18 feet, 6 inches) - earned him a contract with the Outlaws through the remainder of the team's training camp.... The clock, however, is ticking quickly for Mourtada, who has until the end of the week to sufficiently impress the coaching staff in a battle against incumbent starter Ross Gornall, a two-year AFL veteran." - Foxboro Reporter

March 25, 2015 - spring specialists
"Wyoming’s special teams returns two key starters in junior punter Ethan Wood and junior long snapper Brendan Turelli, who both enter the 2015 season having started for the past two seasons.  Gone is senior place-kicker Stuart Williams and senior holder Sam Stratton. 'We are very pleased with the way Ethan (Wood) transitioned last year from being primarily a rugby-style punter his freshman season to more of a traditional punter the past season,' said coach Craig Bohl. 'We also worked a lot on directional punting with Ethan last year, and we were happy with the progress he made. Our snapping by Brendan (Turelli) last year was excellent.  He did a great job. The place-kicking and kickoff duties are still up in the air at this point.  Ethan can certainly kick off, and Justin Martin, who has gone back and forth between kicking and the secondary, is another guy we will take a look at for kickoffs this Spring.  We will have open competition for the place-kicking duties this Spring, as well as through Fall camp'." - Sweetwater Now

January 26, 2015 - kicker Tristan Bailey commits
"Rampart kicker Tristan Bailey, who was named to the All-State team, has decided to attend school at Wyoming and continue his kicking career with the Cowboys. Bailey was being recruited by both Colorado State and the University of Colorado, but found that Wyoming was a better fit for him. 'I visted there, this past weekend and just seeing everything that’s going on just really sold me,' Bailey said. 'When I went to Boulder and Fort Collins I just felt unsure about everything. When I went to Wyoming, everything seemed to fit.' Bailey was successful on 10 of his 12 field goal attempts for the Rams this fall, with his longest boot coming from 53 yards out." - CHSAA

December 16, 2014 - kicker Jon Coppens to walk on
"With senior Stuart Williams closing a four-year career in Laramie in 2014, the Cowboys needed to address placekicking this offseason. Fort Worth, Texas, native Jon Coppens -- a 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete -- may fill that role. Coppens plans to walk on at Wyoming, he confirmed to the Star-Tribune. Coppens, who played for Nolan Catholic High School in 2014, held offers from Rice, Cornell, Army, Dartmouth and Yale. He connected on 8 of 10 field goal attempts, with a long of 45 yards, and converted all 25 extra point tries in his senior season. Prior to moving to Texas, Coppens lived in Minnesota, so the prep kicker should have plenty of experience performing in harsh conditions." - Casper Star-Tribune

August 16, 2014 - first fall scrimmage
“I [head coach Craig Bohl] wanted to make sure we put our field-goal kicker in a position to attempt field goals from different distances. We also did a lot of kickoffs today with kick returns. I think we pretty much covered the water front today.' Senior place-kicker Stuart Williams was 4 of 5 in field-goal attempts on Saturday. He successfully converted field goals from 49 yards, 41 yards, 41 yards and 24 yards. His only miss of the day came from 49 yards out." - KGWN

August 12, 2014 - punter loses parents in plane crash
"Tragedy struck the University of Wyoming football team over the weekend. John and Resia Wood, the parents of sophomore punter Ethan Wood, were killed in plane crash Saturday in southern Iowa. According to, the Woods were flying from Mackinaw Island, Michigan to their home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A post on UW’s Facebook page said they were in Michigan to visit their son, Josh, a defensive backs coach at Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan. The Woods leave behind five children. UW football coach Craig Bohl said Monday that he is unsure when Wood will return to the team. Wood averaged 42 yards per punt last season as a true freshman, including a long of 64, and 13 punts were downed inside the opponents’ 20-yard line. He also led UW with 40 kickoffs, 21 for touchbacks. Senior kicker Stuart Williams said the entire team was upset when the players heard the news. Williams made his fall debut during last Saturday’s second practice. He was held out of camp last week by Bohl. NCAA rules allow teams to have 105 players in practice during camp, and since Williams is a senior and well-established as the team’s kicker, Bohl wanted to use his spot to look at other players. Williams now is the team’s punter and place-kicker, and he handles kickoffs. Junior Justin Martin kicked off 25 times last season, but he is out with an ankle injury. Williams said he has to watch his volume of kicking now." - WyoSports

August 7, 2014 - camp specialists
"Wyoming sophomore long snapper Brendan Turelli attended practice for the first time on Thursday. Earlier in the week, coach Craig Bohl said starting kicker Stuart Williams and Turelli were practicing separately from the team, so the coaching staff could evaluate more players at other positions in practice. The plan was to integrate Williams and Turelli later in camp. That time has arrived for Turelli, though Williams was still nowhere to be seen." - Casper Star Tribune

May 16, 2014 - spring specialists

Saint Kitts and Nevis Men's National Soccer Team News

May 10, 2015 - Kennedy Isles, Devaughn Elliott & Kiamaree Rogers score in win over Barbados
"St. Kitts & Nevis notched two second-half goals to cap a strong performance and defeat Barbados 3-1 in an international friendly at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex on Sunday night. With scores locked 1-1 at the half-time break, Trinidad & Tobago-based midfielder Devaughn Elliot struck early on the resumption to put the visitor ahead, before Kiamaree Rogers produced a brilliant finish deep in stoppage time.... Following a scrappy start, St Kitts took the lead in the 29th minute, when the Trinidad & Tobago-based forward Kennedy Isles capitalised on uneven defending from a corner kick to bury a right-footed volley past goalkeeper Keon Harding. The lead held for only ten minutes as Mario Harte equalised from close range, drilling a right-sided cross from Arantes Lawrence past custodian Jamal Francis. The half-time deadlock was broken seven minutes after the break thanks to excellent work from Isles, who beat his marker and crossed for Elliott to net with a left-footed drive. St Kitts then took control of the game with Dajhal Kelly twice denied by Harding, before Rogers struck in the final minute of stoppage time, smashing a superb volley into the upper right-hand corner off quickly taken short corner." - CONCACAF
