"Vietnam moved to within a point of the leading duo as the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2014 hosts defeated Jordan 2-1 as the second round of qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games moved onto Match Day 4.... Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet giving the ASEAN side a 2-0 lead going into the half-time break, with the forward opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the 18th minute before doubling her side’s lead one minute into stoppage-time. "Vietnam hammered the Philippines 4-0 here Wednesday evening to take on Thailand in a semifinal of the 2015 AFF Women's Championship.... In the game on Wednesday, all four goals were scored in the first half, with a hat-trick by Vietnamese striker . Three minutes into the game, latching onto the ball's rebound from her teammate's header, Nguyet made the opening goal. Vietnamese half-backer Tran Thi Thuy Trang doubled the lead in the 12th minute. Nguyet extended the lead to 3-0 in the 28th minute. She made a hat-trick by converting a penalty in the 38th minute, sealing the lopsided victory for her team." -
May 4, 2015 - Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung scores hat-trick in win over Malaysia
"Malaysia tried hard but in the end Vietnam proved to be too hot to handle as the hosts romped to an easy 7-0 win in the second match of Group B. The match was hardly 55 seconds old and Vietnam had already opened account when Huynh Nhu blasted in from an acute angle as the Malaysian defence stood hapless.... But the break would be pivotal as just two minutes in, Vietnam went ahead when Tran Thi Hong Nhung nodded home the corner from Nguyen Thi Muon. Some hesitant defending in the 59th minute allowed Nguyen Thi Nguyet to slot home before Malaysia conceded a penalty three minutes later when Norsuriani Mazli was booked for the second time by Thai referee Patchaya Boonprasit. Huynh Nhu did not hesitate from the spot to make it goal No. 4. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung then stepped up with a superbly taken corner in the 78th which swung in straight into Malaysian keeper’s Asma Junaidi goal. "Vietnam and Myanmar played neck to neck in the Group B second match of the 2015 AFF Women's Championship here on Saturday evening, with the final score of 3-2 in favor of the host.... One minute later, from a spectacular pass, Vietnamese Do Thi Yen blasted a low shot just outside the penalty box, putting her team ahead. In the 12th minute, Myanmar defender Khin Than Wai netted the equalizer after latching onto a corner kick then delivering a high shot that made Vietnamese 30-year-old goalie Dang Thi Kieu Trinh stand still. In the 21st minute, Myanmar broke through their rivals' defense from the left wing. Unmarked midfielder Naw Phaw used her left leg to drive the ball to the post. The ball ran into the goal before the eyes of powerless goalie Kieu Trinh. Eight minutes later, Vietnamese veteran striker Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet received a long pass and drove the ball over the head of the Myanmar goalkeeper within the box, equalizing the score of 2-2....
