High School Long Kicks - Massachusetts

Our series exploring the longest field goals at the high school level in each state continues with Massachusetts.
  • 53 Mike Pierce, Andover High School, 2007
  • 49 (or 48?) Zack Zefzaf, Mashpee High in 6-5 win over Bishop Stang, 9/14/2007
"He beat us,' said Bishop Stang coach Bill Kavanaugh, who was making his debut at his alma mater after 17 seasons as the head coach at UMass Dartmouth. 'You could tell when it hit his foot, it was going through. That was quite a kick to win the football game.' To boot, up 6-3 with 1:40 left in the game and in their own end zone, the Falcons intentionally took a safety with faith that Zefzaf and their special teams would pin the Spartans back. 'I told the kids they would either punt it or take the safety,' Kavanaugh said. 'To tell you the truth, I'll tell you why they did it, because of their kicker'." - South Coast Today
  • 49 Brian Harvey, Wayland High, 2008
